Between 2007 to 2013, Margaret was a Managing Director and senior coverage partner in the Real Estate and Lodging group within the investment bank at JPMorgan. She advised clients on strategic and capital initiatives through the housing industry’s biggest boom and subsequent downturn.
With over 30 years of industry experience, Margaret is widely recognized for her deep understanding of market drivers, valuation, and capital structure alternatives. She has participated in financing transactions representing $33+ billion in capital raised across a range of mandates.
Our Founder
Margaret Whelan is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Whelan Advisory. She launched the firm in 2014 to provide a tailored, transparent, and deeply experienced alternative to traditional investment banking for owners and founders of homebuilding and construction companies.
Margaret began her career in equity research at Merrill Lynch after graduating with an honors Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University College Dublin in 1994. From 1997 to 2007, she served as a Managing Director and Global Head of Housing Research at UBS, earning Institutional Investor All-America recognition as a top-ranked stock analyst covering more than 30 homebuilding, manufacturing, and retailer stocks.

Andrea Finger, Managing Director
Andrea is a highly accomplished real estate investor and advisor with over 15 years of dedicated experience valuing real estate companies and providing strategic guidance to owners and executives. Her passion for financial analysis and strategic positioning are exemplified in her work advising clients across complex transactions. Andrea has led many successful M&A, capital raise, and land banking transactions in the homebuilding, residential services, and single-family rental sectors, including raising more than $1 billion for Resicap and Resibuilt, and advising on the acquisitions of Prestige Development, CastleRock Communities, and The Commodore Corporation. She is a frequent speaker at industry events, including those hosted by the Urban Land Institute, IMN, John Burns Consulting, National Rental Housing Council, and Zonda, and is a member of ULI Arizona.
Previously, Andrea served as a Global Industry Analyst at Wellington Management Company, where she invested in global real estate companies, including both homebuilders and REITs. She has served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Arizona Eller College of Management. She earned her B.S. from the University of Michigan and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and is based in Tucson, AZ.
Currey Cornelius, Managing Director
Currey is a veteran investment banker with over 15 years of experience advising construction, building products and homebuilding companies. Having progressed from Analyst to Managing Director, he brings deep transaction expertise and industry insight to each engagement. Currey is known for his ability to understand the unique goals of each client, strategically position the businesses for the market, identify optimal parameters, and lead negotiations through closing. He is passionate about helping founders crystallize value for their life’s work while enabling future growth through the right strategic partnership. His recent work includes advising some of the largest residential construction platforms in the U.S., including Focus Companies and ODC Construction, in addition to closing several high-profile homebuilder transactions with international, strategic, and private equity buyers. Currey has been a featured speaker at Urban Land Institute, IMN, National Association of Homebuilders, and Structural Building Components Association events.
Before joining Whelan Advisory Capital Markets in 2021, Currey worked for a boutique investment bank focused exclusively on M&A advisory for construction and building products companies. He earned his B.A. from Colorado College, and is based in Denver, CO.
Luke Klee, Vice President
Luke is an experienced investment banker with over four years of experience focused on the residential real estate industry. He brings a strong foundation in financial analysis, modeling, valuation, and deal execution, and has played a key role in more than ten successful M&A transactions since joining Whelan Advisory. Luke takes a highly strategic approach to understanding his clients’ businesses, with an emphasis on evaluating operating models, capital structures, and competitive positioning to drive optimal outcomes, and is has been a frequent industry contributor, having spoken at PCBC and NAHB events.
Prior to joining Whelan Advisory in 2022, Luke held corporate finance, consulting, and strategy roles, advising organizations through periods of transformation and growth. He earned his B.S. from Marquette University and an MBA from Loyola University Chicago Quinlan School of Business, and is based in Chicago, IL.
Bronson Boyd, Associate
Bronson is an accomplished finance professional with over eight years of experience across middle-market investment banking, transaction advisory, and corporate accounting. He plays a key role in analytical and execution support, including valuation, financial analysis, modeling, and buyer engagement, helping clients accomplish their goals and close complex transactions.
Prior to joining Whelan Advisory in 2025, Bronson developed a strong technical foundation through roles in financial reporting, technical accounting, and middle-market investment banking, with industry experience spanning software, consumer goods, and business services. He earned a B.S., graduating summa cum laude, and an M.S. from the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, and is based in Salt Lake City, UT.
Trent Panzera, Associate
Trent is a proven investment banker whose four-year career has been dedicated to serving clients in the construction industry. As an Associate, he is responsible for company valuation, financial analysis, market and buyer research, and the development of marketing materials, while providing overall transaction support to the team. Trent is passionate about helping founders and management teams achieve successful outcomes by delivering thoughtful strategic advice and rigorous financial analysis.
Prior to joining Whelan Advisory, Trent worked for a boutique investment bank specializing in the construction industry and related sectors. Trent has represented clients across building products, construction chemicals, and contractors and construction services. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business, and is based in Scottsdale, AZ.
