Philanthropy & Purpose

At Whelan Advisory, we believe that professional success creates an opportunity and responsibility to support meaningful philanthropy and community initiatives. We are committed to applying our experience, insight, and resources to causes that align with our values and make a tangible impact. Our philanthropic efforts include support for housing related mentorship programs and charities, as well as guiding local non-profits on strategy, growth and financing alternatives.

Margaret has been on the board of Amber Waves Farm since 2016, supporting the two female farmers who founded the non-profit. Her dedication and passion for this particular group stems from the farm’s mission through their annual apprenticeship program, advancing sustainable farming and responsible land stewardship, and reducing food insecurity for families in need on Long Island’s East End, where she loves to spend time with her family.

Operation Coming Home

In 2015, Margaret and her family established a charitable initiative dedicated to causes that matter deeply to them and the Whelan Advisory team. One such collaboration, the Hero Home program, grew from a connection made by Aliana Money-Garman, Founder and CEO of Garman Homes.

In 2022, the firm began supporting the Hero Home program, which culminated in January 2024 with a dedication ceremony welcoming Ava Bradley and her children to their mortgage-free home outside Raleigh, NC. Ava was selected as a Hero Home recipient in recognition of the service and sacrifice of her late husband, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Juantrea Bradley, Sr.

Please visit the Operation: Coming Home website if you are interested in getting involved.
